Aveon Partners is a small firm, and it intends to stay one. The consequence for anyone joining is that the work is unusually direct: there is no layer between a new colleague and a live transaction.

We are building a practice in which sector knowledge and technical capability sit together rather than in separate departments. That is an unusual composition for an advisory firm, and it is deliberate.

AI Engineer

Full time · New York

We are building the systems that do the analytical work behind our mandates: mapping the companies in a sector rather than buying a list, screening against a thesis, pulling structured signal out of unstructured filings and financials, and surfacing what matters in a diligence file before anyone reads page four hundred.

This is not a research assistant bolted onto a chat interface. The work is production software operating on confidential client material, under constraints that come with the territory: accuracy that can be checked, decisions that can be explained, and handling that satisfies a regulated counterparty.

What the work involves

Designing and shipping agentic systems end to end. Working directly with the partners on live mandates rather than on a roadmap abstracted from them. Deciding where a model genuinely outperforms an analyst and, as importantly, where it does not.

What we are looking for

Demonstrated experience putting LLM or agentic systems into production, ideally somewhere the cost of being wrong was real. Comfort with ambiguity in the problem rather than only in the implementation. No financial background is required; an interest in acquiring one is.

Equity and Industry Research Intern

Internship · New York or remote

Supporting the research that underpins both our published analysis and our live mandates: sector mapping, company profiling, transaction and valuation benchmarking, and tracking the acquirers active across healthcare and life sciences, technology and industrials.

Interns here work on material that is used. Sector maps built in this role inform real approaches to real companies, and research written in it is published under the firm's name.

What the work involves

Building and maintaining sector maps and acquirer registers. Profiling companies from primary sources. Assembling comparable transaction and trading analyses. Drafting sections of published research with a partner.

What we are looking for

Rigour with primary sources and a low tolerance for unverified figures. Clear written English. Some grounding in financial analysis, or evident capacity to acquire it quickly. A background in the life sciences is an advantage but is not a requirement.
